Crochet for Beginners
A calm starting point for people who have never crocheted before.
Most beginners need fewer decisions, not more equipment. Choose simple yarn, one suitable hook and a basic practice plan. The first pieces may look uneven. That is normal.

Your first week
Spend the first sessions learning the hand position, chain and one basic stitch. Repetition matters more than variety.
Common early mistakes
Pulling yarn too tight, losing stitches at the edge, switching teachers constantly and choosing a project that is too advanced are all common. None of them means you are bad at crochet.
A good first project
Pick something small enough to finish and repetitive enough to practise. Flowers, coasters, simple accessories or a small bag panel can work well.
Learn it properly, from the very first stitch.
Crochet Foundations starts where you actually are and stays with you until you have finished something you want to keep.
